Baby Shower

My baby shower last weekend was so wonderful! My mom and sister and mom-in-law were all able to fly in from out of state to celebrate with us. Here I am with my mom, Karen, and Daniel's mom, Lois.

My sister, Amy (in the purple shirt), and my good friend, Stephanie, were the hostesses for the shower. They did an amazing job and I am so grateful for all their time and energy. My sister planned games and prizes and Stephanie prepared all the food. She even made a cheesecake at my request! Now that is a good friend!

Here are all the gifts. Lots of adorable outfits, towels, and general baby necessities. My family went in on a car seat for us and Daniel's family went in on a stroller! You can see the car seat on the left, and the stroller is on its way!

Thanks again to everyone who came and showered me with support! It really meant so much to me, and all the gifts are greatly appreciated!

Mother's Day

Well, today was officially my first Mother's Day! Even though my little baby is still growing inside of me, I am caring for her 24/7 and sacrificing daily so that her needs get met. So I'd say that qualifies me as a mom! Daniel gave me flowers; and after going out for breakfast, we went to Babies R Us and bought a little outfit for our little girl. I'm now officially 23.5 weeks. However, my uterus was measuring VERY large at my Friday appointment. Normal for a 23 weeker is 21-25cm. I measured 27cm! I was a big baby when I was born (9lbs and one week early), so I'm thinking I'm probably going to carry big babies too. Here's me in a new maternity shirt I got:

Also this week, we had a pergola built in our backyard. We hired someone to build it, then Daniel and I (mostly Daniel) primed and painted it. The next step is to put an awning over it for more shade coverage. We also hope to finally buy some patio furniture to go with our new deck cover!
